AIMS & SCOPE
Intercultural Studies of Central and Eastern Europe is an annual journal published since 2007 addressed to specialists dealing with the issues of Central and Eastern Europe. The topics covered in it are related to various disciplines: history and political science, literature and language, culture, art and religion. We publish original scholarly articles, discussions, reviews, and reports. The authors of the papers included are scientists of different ethnic backgrounds, representing various schools and research approaches and the journal itself serves as a multidisciplinary platform for the exchange of ideas and the integration of researchers from Poland and abroad.
The concept of Central and Eastern Europe proposed in the journal is broader than the one promoted after World War II, reaching further to the east, the west and the south to show similarity of the cultural development of Poles, Lithuanians (as well as Latvians and Estonians), Ruthenians (Russians, Belorussians and Ukrainians), Czechs, Slovaks and Hungarians, and Germans (and Austrians).
The editors strive to ensure that the papers published in the journal comprehensively and objectively reveal new aspects in the culture and history of the countries of the Central and Eastern European Region. We aim to ensure that the results of the interdisciplinary research presented here significantly expand the state of knowledge about the region and the phenomenon of its multiculturalism.
